Students should be advised that this certificate acknowledges that the coursework needed for the Utah State Board of Education Middle School Mathematics Teaching Endorsement has been satisfied. Until the student also satisfies the requirements for a teaching licensure through the Weber State University College of Education or through a local educational agency (LEA), the student cannot apply for this endorsement from the state.
While any major is invited to complete the courses required of this endorsement, students majoring in a mathematics or education related field would be more prepared for the courses required. Students should be advised of the prerequisite requirements for the course required in this certificate.

Admission Requirements
Any major is invited to complete this sets of courses, however, majors in Elementary Education, Special Education, mathematics, and physics would be most likely to have completed the prerequisite requirements of the required courses.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students completing this set of courses will have satisfied the coursework requirements by the state of Utah to earn the Middle School Teaching endorsement. These students will have acquired the mathematical content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge needed to teach Grades 7-9 mathematics.
